Following is a list of politicians, organizations, and other influential people who all condone slaughter of our American horses. This list will be much more in depth soon -- so please check back!

American Association of Equine Practitioners

The AAEP (which claims to have the horses' best interest at heart!) takes a shameful stance on the Horse Slaughter issue - they go so far as to call horse slaughter humane! Click here to read the AAEP's statement regarding slaughter of our American horses.
American Quarter Horse Association
The AQHA is campaigning against HR 857 and S 2352 -- they have written their members requesting them to oppose this important bill! The AQHA did a poll of their NC members. . . but would not release it. Tim Case said the majority of those polled were females, and "women think more with the hearts". Nice to know how much (little) the AQHA thinks of their female members, eh?
American Veterinary Medical Association

The AVMA's also makes the claim that horse slaughter is necessary. The AVMA's stance on horse slaughter can be viewed here.

Bob Goodlatte said: "This bill (HR857) is not good for horses, and it's not good for horse owners,"
A question posed to Bob Goodlatte was how he could claim horse abuse would increase if slaughter were outlawed as the statistics in CA and IL show that abuse decreased when slaughter was out-lawed in CA and when Cavel (horse slaughtering plant) burned down in IL.. .and while TX, has the highest abuse rates in the country, and *two* horse slaughter plants. Bob Goodlatte's lame response was "I can't comment, I have not looked at the statistics."

DeKalb Mayor Greg Sparrow, refused to listen to the thousands of DeKalb citizens who protested against the reopening of Cavel (horse slaughtering plant) in Illinois.
